Photoshopped? Kim Kardashian, 38, has been accused of allegedly editing a picture with her five-year-old daughter North and two-year-old son, Saint
- Kim, 38, shared a picture with her daughter North and son, Saint, in Bali
- But one Instagram account, @fakegirlsf***ya, is accusing the reality star of photoshopping the picture to make North look thinner and lighter
- The picture was taken hen the family visited the elephants on vacation
- In a video, it shows how the filter on Kim’s picture dulled the bright colors
- It also shows what appears to be a slight slimming of North’s stomach
- A source close to Kim told exclusively that the image shared on the reality star’s account was re-posted from a fan site
Kim Kardshian has come under fire over accusations that she Photoshopped her five-year-old daughter North in a candid family snap – despite sources close to the star insisting that she would never alter her child’s appearance.
The mother-of-three, 38, has previously been accused of darkening her skin, shrinking her waist, and many other Photoshop edits. But this time, people are accusing Kim of allegedly lightening her young daughter’s skin and making her waist thinner.
Instagram account @fakegirlsf***ya, which points out alleged Photoshopping on celebrity photos, first noticed the edits made on a recent picture Kim posted with her two eldest children.
Original: The edits, first pointed out by Instagram account @fakegirlsf***ya, showed a difference between the original paparazzi picture (pictured) and Kim’s post
However, a source close to the reality star and beauty mogul told DailyMail.com exclusively that the image in question was re-posted to Kim’s account directly from a fan site, and any alterations that may have been made to it were not done by her.
‘Kim sometimes reposts images from her fan sites,’ the source explained. ‘This was one of those times. The paparazzi photo was altered via the fan site.
The source also insisted that Kim would never alter the appearance of her daughter’s body, saying: ‘She would never photoshop North to alter her weight.’
In the picture in question, Kim is crouched down with her arm around Saint while holding North’s hand when the family visited the elephants in Bali earlier this month.
The picture has been obviously edited with a filter to make the background look less green and the kid’s clothes appear less neon – a change in tone that was also like responsible for the alteration of skin color with all three people captured.
But that hasn’t stopped people from accusing Kim of purposely altering her daughter’s skin tone because it appears lighter than the original. This change, though, could merely be due to the choice of filter.
Another alteration the account is alleging is the slimming of North’s waist.
In the original paparazzi picture, it appears that North’s stomach is sticking out more while standing next to her mom.
But a video showing the original and edited pictures back-to-back makes it seem like North’s stomach was thinned and smoothed for the picture Kim posted on her Instagram account.
It is not confirmed this is what Kim intended with her edited picture, but potentially slimming down her young daughter sends the wrong message about body acceptance and positivity.
Divided: Some commenters thought the altered picture was only due to a dulling of colors True: People were in agreement that the lightening of skin was due to the filter Concerned: But it appeared another edit was the thinning of North’s waist, which left some commenters appalled Disgusted: Commenters were upset at the idea that Kim could’ve altered her daughter’s body to make her look thinner
Appalled: Other people pointed out how the post seemed purely for Kim’s vanity, not because it was a good one of her children
Commenters have taken sides on the extent of the edits from the beauty mogul.
Most people were in agreement that the skin lightening was just due to dulling the colors.
‘She lowered the saturation,’ one person commented. ‘That’s about it.’
But others believed North’s stomach looked slimmer and expressed shock a mother would want to edit her child thinner in a picture.
‘Kids who are chubby are the cutest,’ one woman wrote. ‘No need to edit…gosh Kim…What’s wrong with you!’
Another person commented: ‘Can’t believe she photoshopped her daughter’s stomach.’
Another focus of the comments was the fact that Kim seemed worried more about her vanity instead of her children looking good for the picture she posted.
‘She only even posted the picture because of how she looks in it,’ one person wrote. ‘Saint isn’t even looking and North doesn’t look happy.’
Kim has yet to address the latest photoshop allegations since they were first revealed on Monday.
